The achievements of the potters of SouthEast Asia have not been widely acknowledged in the history of the region, and were rarely seen by early writers as having a clear cultural identity of their own. This book provides an introduction to the histories of the glazed ceramic traditions of SouthEast Asia. It examines the ceramics of Burma, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam, and discusses the wares, kiln technology, and evolution of forms and glazes.
