A Single Man stars Colin Firth as a teacher grieving over the death of his partner and planning suicide to end his pain. Set in 1962 and directed by fashion designer Tom Ford the film has captured a host of awards including a Golden Globe nomination for best soundtrack. Abel Korzeniowskis elegiac, stringlead score complements the film beautifully and is supplemented by additional music from Shigeru Umebayashi plus a fine selection of source music ranging from opera to Booker T & The MGs.
